I absolutely love coming to BACA Chess events. It’s such a friendly, chilled atmosphere and there’s honestly something for everyone, whether you’ve been playing for years or you’ve never touched a chess board before.
You can get coaching if you want to improve, play relaxed games, or join the more competitive timed games if that’s your thing. Even if you’re just looking to meet new people, it’s a really easy place to chat and hang out.
One of the best things for me has been the people. I’ve made loads of friends through BACA Chess, and we even meet up outside of chess now. It’s become much more than just somewhere to play. It’s a genuinely lovely community, and I always look forward to coming back.

BACA is 10/10!!! I was completely new to chess when I went to my first ever BACA event, but I quickly fell in love with the game after a few beginner friendly sessions with the teachers - who were incredibly patient and made learning interactive and engaging! It’s always a good time and everyone is incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. Whether you’re a beginner or going on your own, you’ll feel settled in no time and it’s a great way to learn a new skill and meet new people 😊 it’s a lot more social than you may think! I highly recommend BACA to anyone and everyone! I’ve gone with friends, colleagues, family and they’re always asking when the next event is!

THE best place to be. Had the best time the 3 times I've gone to BACA chess. Super friendly, good vibes, everyone is open to chat and play a game of chess. The founder, Aranan, also goes out his way to make sure everyone's okay and having a good time. Highly recommend to anyone whether you've played chess or not, great place to learn and make new friends!
